Head of Finance

Salary: £55,000–£60,000 FTE (£44,000–£48,000 actual salary for 30 hours per week)

Contract: Permanent

Essential & Desirable Criteria

Qualified accountant with an ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent professional qualification.

Significant experience in a senior finance role, with responsibility for financial management, reporting and planning.
Experience producing management accounts, budgets, forecasts and financial analysis.
Experience leading external audits and statutory reporting processes.
Experience managing financial controls, cash flow and organisational risk.
Experience leading, managing and developing finance staff.
Experience presenting financial information to senior leaders, Boards or Trustees.
Strong financial modelling and analytical experience.

Excellent communication and influencing skills.
High levels of integrity, professionalism and attention to detail.
Strong understanding of financial management principles and governance requirements.
Ability to translate complex financial information into clear, meaningful insight for non-financial audiences.
Strong organisational and prioritisation skills.

Experience contributing positively to a Senior Management Team and building effective working relationships to achieve organisational objectives.
Experience supporting strategic decision-making through financial insight and analysis.
Ability to balance strategic thinking with effective operational delivery.
Ability to influence and constructively challenge senior leadership and Board-level colleagues.

Experience working within the charity, voluntary, healthcare, social enterprise or public sector.
Knowledge of the Charity SORP and charity accounting requirements.
Experience supporting tendering, contract management or commissioned services.
Experience using Sage or an equivalent financial management system.
Understanding of NHS, local authority or commissioned service environments.
